Get answers to common questions about Microblading.
Microblading commonly lasts 12–24 months depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Oily skin may fade faster. We recommend a color-correcting touch-up at 6–8 weeks after the initial treatment, then maintenance every 12–18 months.
Most clients report mild discomfort similar to eyebrow tweezing. We apply a topical anesthetic before and during the procedure to minimize pain. Sensations vary, but the numbing keeps the treatment comfortable and manageable for nearly everyone.
Avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and heavy exfoliation for at least 48–72 hours. Avoid tanning, chemical peels, and retinoids for two weeks. Arrive with clean skin and no eyebrow makeup for accurate mapping and pigment application.
Initial redness and scabbing appear during the first week; pigment may look darker initially but softens as it heals. Keep brows dry, avoid heavy sweating, and follow cleansing and ointment instructions. Full healing and true color reveal usually occur around 6–8 weeks.
Some conditions exclude candidacy, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain autoimmune diseases, recent chemotherapy, active skin infections, or severe keloid scarring. Blood-thinning medications and certain skin treatments may require physician clearance. A consultation and medical history review determine suitability.
Touch-ups refine shape, restore faded pigment, and address healing inconsistencies. The first touch-up at 6–8 weeks perfects results; subsequent maintenance sessions every 12–18 months keep color vibrant. We assess your brows and customize touch-up timing to your needs.
